About

Stacey Mata NASM-CPT, CES

Aloha! E Komo Mai (Welcome) to my health and fitness blog. As a strong advocate for maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle, I am passionate about helping people increase their quality of life through proper nutrition and physical activity. My love for competitive athletics, recreational and fitness-related activities is deeply rooted inside my soul. Growing up as an active AND overweight child/pre-teen was difficult, however, conquering that battle through positive lifestyle changes has transformed me from an obese child into a healthy, fearless, confident woman. I am determined to help others find the strength within themselves to become healthier citizens who can overcome adversities that life throws at them. My credentials include certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) as a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and a (NASM) Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES). I am also an Elite Trainer/Fitness Expert on Sharecare.com. I hold degrees in Health Education (M.S.Ed) and Physical Education (B.S.Ed) both from SUNY Cortland (NY). Prior to relocating to Hawaii, I was a physical education and a health education teacher in New York. I have taught all levels of the scholastic spectrum (K-12) and I have also coached various levels (elementary through collegiate) and disciplines within youth sports.  If you would like to contact me with any questions or comments, please fill out the form below or leave a comment by clicking the link to the left of the page. Thank you and happy reading!
